Rioja Organic

San Millán Rioja Organic 2012

This wine is named after San Millán de la Corolla in The Rioja, whose monasteries are Unesco world heritage.

Winegrowing region

D.O.Ca. Rioja

Varietals

100% Tempranillo

Winegrowing

Picked from organic vineyards located in the Upper Rioja, a zone influenced by the Atlantic with poor limy-clay soils with a specific texture.
These two characteristics give the Tempranillo grapes the necessary freshness and rounded tannins needed to craft a wine of these characteristics.

Winemaking

San Millán Organic is made from destemmed and crushed grapes, macerated for 15 days, after which it is aged in barrels of American oak for 10 months where the wine’s freshness and fruitiness is enriched with toasty and spiced woody notes, the tannins are polished and the wine is rounded until it is ready to drink.

Analytical Properties

Alcohol by volume: 13%

Tasting notes

Aspect: Deep ruby red with a violet rim.

Nose: Red fruit, liquorice and violets.
Light toasty and spicy notes (vanilla, fennel).
